Demand Planning Manager

Role overview

We are looking for a Demand Planning Manager to join our Sales team at Beavertown!

Reporting into our Commercial Director, the Demand Planning Manager’s key responsibility will be the daily management and support of the Demand Planning team and their development within the business.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the business, lead special projects within the commercial team and build relationships with both UK and export customers.

The Demand Planning Manager will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for planning and excellent time management skills. We are looking for someone with amazing organisational skills, alongside an affinity for managing & developing people.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and the development of the Demand Planning team on a day to day basis
  • Establish and track goals and objectives with members of team and perform quarterly reviews
  • Collate data and reports for internal and external customers relating to stock levels, forecast and customer service to agreed timetable
  • Continue to always have a holistic view of our demand chain network to ensure we remain efficient in our inbound service to customers
  • Liaise between Sales, Production and Warehouse teams to ensure all departments are in sync
  • Take leadership for the occasional efficiency based special projects as agreed with your line manager e.g ERP
  • Identify improvement opportunities within production and forecasting and drive through actions to deliver these
  • Provide support across team for additional activities as required
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate for all relevant employees
  • Maintain all goals and personal budgets outlined to you
  • Work closely with Finance department regarding debtors, invoice queries and payments
  • Work with third party couriers to arrange customer shipping, and also ensure best pricing and timelines are met
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting and data entry into system
  • Up to date understanding of tax legislation and compliance procedures
  • Ability to complete EMCS documents and other supporting material
  • Other duties as intermittently assigned by your manager

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience in management and the planning industry
  • An individual that has the ability to bring people together and foster a one team mentality
  • Understands the importance of the customer and getting things right first time
  • Exemplary organisational and analytical skills
  • Ability to lead, coach and review a team’s performance against their required tasks
  • Up to date understanding of tax legislation and compliance procedures
  • Maintain all goals and personal budgets outlined
  • Approachable and a strong sense of accuracy is essential
  • High level of competency in working off an SAP platform
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills – especially Excel and able to utilise system software to improve department efficiencies
  • Ability to complete EMCS documents and other supporting material
