Amateur hour

This is the first of a special genre of the Beavertown Says series. It is TEAM Beavertown Says.Every department here at Beavertown has developed and brewed their own beer. By chance (we drew names out of a hat) our brewer team was the first ones up. Seems (un)fair that the bar is set to a certain (high) standard.

“When the Brewer team started to work on our BTS beer, we had just taken on two new brewers: Chris and Owen. Both guys had experience brewing some traditional German style beers including Kolsch, so we started from the idea of using a German ale yeast to ferment the beer, giving unique bready, and bubblegum aromas, and then built in a sturdy malt bill including German specialty malts. The conversation then turned to hops, and we decided to stick with a theme and use only German hops, but focusing on more modern hops from the country. We hopped the beer in the copper with Magnum for bittering, and German Cascade for aroma. We then dry hopped with Huell Melon, German Comet, and Hallertau Blanc, and then conditioned the beer for a long time.”
